Nothing is impossible
I am basking in the sunny glory of having achieved what I thought was unachievable. A few months ago I was at the movies and I saw the trailers to both The Departed and Children of Men and both sent me back to my childhood - a time when I used to lie in wait for my grandma to come with her yearly bounty of VHS movies she had recorded from Britland and with them came the British commercials - some of which were my absolute favourites -though I do not have an inkling of what they were right now, but watching these two trailers hit a chord somewhere - they had a background music which was extrememly familiar and yet I could not place where I had heard it. I forgot about this sudden remembrance after leaving the theatre untill of course I went to another show and heard rather than saw the trailers again - I think I went to see both the movies simply to try and figure out the music but there were no clues, I ended up liking The Departed - and liking Michael Caine in the Children of Men - but let me not digress - the tune was driving me crazy - I reserached the soundtracks for both the movies - bu there were no clues - I even researched the scores - again fruitless - the day before New year's Eve I went to the Virgin store on Times square - got hold of the albums there - in anticipation that maybe they would have it. I spent an hour jostled at the listening station but still no luck Though I discovered Iron and Wine - and I must say I liked them! - but I digress again -
Then came the next phase of my desperate search - I emailed one of my friends who I thought might have an answer but to no avail - ultimately today after so many unfruitful meanderings over the internet I remembered that it was in a car commercial - and I started looking up car commercials and............................................................

........................................................................
No luck there either!
Minutes before I was finally about to leave my research and give up - I changed my search criteria to this -
same music used in The Departed and Children of Men
and I came here:

and thankfully this wonderful guy had written about exactly what I needed to know - it was the starting of a Rolling Stones song - Gimme Shelter - I watched the video - everyone seemed to be in a drug induced stupor but I guess that kind of fits the beginning piece. Well and there was the sweet after taste of success which was lacing the song - as well as memories of sitting in my grandpa's armchair - watching videos while my grandma took her afternoon nap and my parents were out buying - what my dad loves best gadgets - for home improvement.
